![]() Then I played Unity… and it was exceedingly rough. ![]() My only complaint was that instead of Black Flag’s 20 hours of story and 25 hours of side content, we got 10 hours of story and 25 hours of side content. Questionable mission types were excised, already functional (and fun) gameplay systems were refined, New York City was tweaked and refined to facilitate more parkour hijinks, and the river valley was a delightful land/sea hybrid that, in hindsight, reminds me of a prototype Odyssey. It was Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag 1.5, really, and played like a victory lap. I heard that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue led into Unity (and boy did it ever), so I played that one first. ![]() So, full disclosure: I did not have a good time with this game when it first came out.
